New Process (Jet Cutting Method) for the Production of Spherical Beads from Highly Viscous Polymer Solutions

Processes for the production of sperical beads distributed uniformly are of major interest for various industries. Up to now no encapsulation process exists that allows the production of small, uniformly distributed beads. In order to resolve this problem the authors have developed a new process. As...

Description
Summary:Processes for the production of sperical beads distributed uniformly are of major interest for various industries. Up to now no encapsulation process exists that allows the production of small, uniformly distributed beads. In order to resolve this problem the authors have developed a new process. As model fluid they used high viscosity poly(vinyl alcohol) solutions that are able to form gels by freezing‐thawing.
