Summary: | We describe the process of depositing graphite-black on thin pyroelectric detector substrates and compare this with previous work on gold-black coating, documented in the literature. Spectrophotometric measurements indicate that graphite-coating reflectance, at normal incidence, varies by less than 5% from 250 to 2500 nm. The electrical characterization, indicates that graphite coating can be used for the radiant-electrical calibration of pyroelectric detectors. Measurements with electrical heating made on graphite resistance, indicate that the permissible absolute power that could measure the pyroelectric detector could measure, is a function of the graphite thickness. |
