Description
Summary:The origin of the spin-glass-like low-temperature phase in mechanically alloyed Fe 30W 40Ag 30 has been investigated with hysteresis loops, AC and DC susceptibility measurements. The magnetic glassy behavior is revealed by the characteristic irreversibility between the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and the field-cooled (FC) magnetization, and by the small frequency sensitivity of the AC susceptibility vs. temperature peak. The collective freezing of interacting nanoclusters is suggested as the mechanism responsible for the observed properties.
