Description
Summary:In this paper, an attempt has been made to develop zirconia-alumina-mullite composite coating through reactive plasma spraying of zircon and alumina. For this purpose, commercial grade alumina and zircon sand were used. The coating thus developed was tested for its performances in wear and cyclic thermal loading. Its wear performance is compared with plasma sprayed zircon sand coating and another coating made from imported, plasma grade alumina powder.
