Summary:We measured the in vitro activity of five new antimicrobial agents that were kindly provided by their respective manufacturers: quinupristin/dalfopristin, linezolid, eperezolid and rifabutin and mupirocin, doxycycline and compared them with the activity of established antimicrobials (streptomycin, doxycycline and rifampicin) against 105 strains of Brucella melitensis, including the type strain B. melitensis ATCC 23456.
