Summary: | The main lines of the development of DNA nanobioelectronics are reviewed. Results of recent experiments on charge transfer in DNA and conducting properties of DNA fragments are presented. Basic theoretical approaches to the description of charge transfer in DNA and conducting properties of DNA are given. Various DNA‐based electronic devices, such as electronic nanobiochip, electronic memory, and logical elements are considered. Perspectives of DNA‐based nanoelectronics are discussed. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2008 |
