Summary:A new model test reaction is proposed for the estimation of low-temperature hydride transfer (HT) activity of solid acids. The reaction of cyclohexene with isobutane on zeolite Beta, ZSM-5 and sulfated zirconia distinguished between disproportionation/hydrogen transfer and HT. The effects of acid site density, catalyst structure and interaction with isobutane are discussed.
