checklist and a key for the Phytoseiidae species of Turkey with two new species records (Acari: Mesostigmata)

A checklist and a key are given for the 62 species of Phytoseiidae of Turkey. Two species Neoseiulus marginatus (Wainstein) and Transeius wainsteini (Gomelauri), which are new records from Turkey, as well as Transeius herbarius (Wainstein) are redescribed. Amblyseius enab El-Badry, Amblyseius rusticana Athias-Henriot, Typhlodromus tenuis Westerboer, and Typhlodromus intercalaris Livshitz and Kuznetsov are recognized as suspected junior synonyms of Amblyseius swirskii Athias-Henriot, Amblyseiella setosa Muma, T. herbarius (Wainstein), and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) invectus Chant, respectively. We accept a previous conclusion on the species concept of Phytoseius plumifer (Canestrini and Fanzago) and consider removing Phytoseius finitimus Ribaga from synonymy with P. plumifer.
