Colloidal Crystals of Monodisperse FePt Nanoparticles Grown by a Three-Layer Technique of Controlled Oversaturation
Colloidal crystals of FePt nanocrystals have been produced by a three‐layer oversaturation technique. Faceted triangular and hexagonal platelets, pyramids, and tetrahedrons have been obtained (see Figure), consisting of individual monodisperse FePt nanocrystals aligned in a 3D superlattice. Transiti...

Summary: | Colloidal crystals of FePt nanocrystals have been produced by a three‐layer oversaturation technique. Faceted triangular and hexagonal platelets, pyramids, and tetrahedrons have been obtained (see Figure), consisting of individual monodisperse FePt nanocrystals aligned in a 3D superlattice. Transition from superparamagnetic to ferromagnetic behavior is observed at 14 K. |
