Abstract Peripheral blood was collected from a clinically diagnosed 79-year old male sporadic Parkinson's disease patient. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were reprogrammed with the Yamanaka KMOS reprogramming factors using the Sendai-virus reprogramming system. The transgene-free iPSC line showed pluripotency verified by immunofluorescent staining for pluripotency markers, and the iPSC line was able to differentiate into the 3 germ layers in vivo. The iPSC line also showed normal karyotype. This in vitro cellular model can be used to study the mechanism of sporadic Parkinson's disease and to test new drugs.Resource TableImage 1Name of stem cell linePD-BP001-iPSCInstitutionThe 1st Hospital of Jilin UniversityPerson who created resourceHong WuContact person and emailHong Wu, drwuhong@hotmail.comDate archived/stock dateJuly 2016OriginPeripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs)Type of resourceBiological reagent: human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lineSub-typecell lineKey transcription factorsKlf-4, c-Myc, Oct-4, Sox-2AuthenticationIdentity and purity of cell line confirmed (Fig. 1)Link to related literatureNot availableInformation in public databasesNot availableEthicsPatient informed consent obtained, Ethics Review Board authority approval obtained
