Description
Summary:The article has investigated osmosis transfer through a polymer semi-permeable membrane of water having a different concentration of deuterium in the course of direct osmosis. For the first time osmosis transfer of water isotopologues—deuterium and oxygen 18—through the polymer semi-permeable membrane separating light and heavy water has been detected. The article presents results indicating that isotope osmosis suppresses osmotic stream existing owing to different concentration of chemical components dissolved in light and heavy waters.
