Summary: | Macronutrients support the most essential functions of the plant. Impact of integrated use of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the macronutrient status in soil and plant were studied in an ongoing 40-year old long-term fertilizer experiment (LTFE) under finger millet mono-cropping system at All India Co-ordinated Research Project for Dry land Agriculture (AICRPDA), Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, during kharif 2018. The experimental plot in the field was laid out following a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with eight treatments and three replications. Results indicated that continuous application of 100% NPK with Farm Yard Manure (FYM) increased the macronutrient availability in soil N (345.35 kg ha

), P

(66.58 kg ha

), nutrient content and uptake by finger millet grain, straw, roots, and stubbles. Application of FYM @ 10 t ha

+ 100% RDF over a period of 40 years significantly increased the macronutrient content in soil and uptake by finger millet grain, straw, roots, and stubbles against 100% NPK treatment and control. |
