Six compounds including the new monoterpene 5

-hydroxy-2,3,6-trimethylcyclohepta-2,6-dien-1-one (

) and the five compounds (

) identified as 2

-dihydroxy-

-pinene (

), 4-hydroxyacetophenone (

), syringaldehyde (

), 5-hydroxy-4-isopropylfuran-2(5

)-one (

), and chenopanone (

) were isolated from the aerial part of
Artemisia austriaca
and from this plant for the first time. Their molecular formula and chemical structures were established.
