Description
Summary:— A numerical experiment on approving adaptive sound-source localization algorithms making it possible to solve the inverse problem in the absence of data on the hydroacoustic characteristics of ocean medium has been performed. These results may be useful for identifying low-noise sources in water areas where acoustic calibration is impossible and there is no a priori information about the transfer function. The conditions for the few- and multimode regimes of sound propagation are discussed.
