Description
Summary:This paper proposes a new topology of a hybrid renewable system, DFIG/PV as well as storage units. PV units with storage units are directly connected to the dc-link of a DFIG, which leads to reducing the construction cost, reducing the energy swings when the wind speed changes and increasing the system reliability. The proposed system modeling, control strategy and wind turbine characteristic tracking are presented. The introduced control strategy is designed to exploit optimal operation of the active and reactive power of the system under different operation modes as sub-/super-synchronous modes. The system performance is analyzed at sub-/super-synchronous modes. PV and storage unit are utilized to control the active/reactive power flow in dc-link. The step power reference fluctuations are kept in slight limits, and the multiple switching operations of grid converter are minimized. Finally, to ensure the efficiency and advantages of the proposed technique, a full day numerical simulation case obtained with MATLAB/Simulink is introduced.
