Intermediate paramagnetic centres stabilized in γ-irradiated solid hydrogen cyanide
The low temperature radiolysis of HCN gives high yields of the paramagnetic centres CN and, mainly, H2CN radicals which upon subsequent heating to room temperature are shown to polymerise to polyene radicals.
