Summary:This workshop was a basic introduction to the rules underlying serials cataloging. The intent of the workshop was not to train participants to be serials catalogers, but rather to provide them with an understanding of the rules, principles and terminology underlying serials cataloging. The presenter gave a brief overview of the development of standards, discussed the main standards catalogers work with, and reviewed recent revisions to chapter twelve of AACR2.
