Summary: | This work reports on synthesis and properties of the sodium superionic conductor Na3.4Zr2P0.6Si2.4O12 (NASICON) prepared with the solid-state method and thick film technology. Electrochemical performance of NASICON was tested by applying it to the potentiometric NOx sensor, as a solid electrolyte. Despite some potential disadvantages resulting from the route of NASICON processing, the developed sensor exhibited good performance in sensing NOx. A comparison of different methods of NASICON synthesis was made and it was concluded that the solid-state method of NASICON synthesis can still successfully compete with the alternative sol–gel route. |
