Description
Summary:A new type of microstrip patch antenna is designed and developed to be used in ground‐penetrating radar (GPR) applications. The developed antenna is an E‐shaped rectangular patch, with additional co‐planar microstrip resonators and a slotted ground plane. The measurements show that this antenna provides impedance bandwidths greater than 15% using low‐cost FR4 substrate. A dielectric cover makes this antenna easily and effectively applicable to difficult GPR applications. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
