Description
Summary:Now days where being expenses is increased and abundant waste material is produced by stone processing units, it is necessary to have certain knowledge where economical substitutes in concrete can resolve this issue of waste materials. Mechanical and Durability properties of concrete are studied here when sand and cement are substituted for quartzite rock dust up to 70 percent and 40 percent. Compressive and Flexural Strength test were being carried out for different concrete samples of embedded quartzite rock dust at age of 7 and 28 days. Rapid chloride permeability test (RCPT) as per ASTMC1202 were being performed on various cylindrical concrete specimens cured at 28 days. Total Charge passed value unbelievably decreased with addition of quartzite rock dust suggesting that its accumulation improve concrete durability.
