Summary: | The present work aims to develop carbon coating using HVOF technique and to enhance wear properties of carbon coating for piston ring applications utilizing Taguchi approach. SEM-EDS was utilized to characterize the worn out surfaces of composite coating. The optimal parameters were determined and anticipated utilizing S/N ratio. Significant factors for wear was sliding speed (59.89%) followed by temperature (28.71%) and load (9.18%). |
