A multiband self‐complementary SRR loaded dipole antenna

Description
Summary:In this article, a novel self‐complimentary, split ring resonator‐loaded dipole antenna (SCSDA) is proposed, which could be used in L and S bands. The proposed antenna consists of U‐shaped dipoles loaded with split ring resonators. Along with the dipoles, SRRs excites additional resonances yielding multi‐band operation. The measured average gain is 7 dBi across the bandwidth for the antenna. The measured results confirm that SCSDA is a multiband antenna and can be a good candidate for L and S band applications.
