Concentric Multipixel Silicon Photodiode Array Probes for Spatially Resolved Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy

Summary: | Spatially resolved diffuse reflectance (SRDR) measurements provide photon path information, and enable depth-resolved tissue analysis. This paper introduces an innovative concentric multi-pixel photodiode array (CMPA) probe for SRDR measurements. The CMPA is a compact and densely packed semiconductor SRDR probe which was fabricated and tested on a 99% reflectance standard and two tissue mimicking liquid phantoms for probe validation. The experimental results agree well with forward Monte Carlo simulations. |
