Summary: | Turkey's first Financial Leasing Law No 3226 (the "FLL") was published in the Official Gazette on 28 June 1985 and was lastly amended on 21 February 2001. A new draft FLL (the "Draft FLL") was submitted to the Grand Assembly of the Turkish Parliament and was expected to be enacted in 2009. However, the Draft FLL is still pending before the Plan and Budget Commission of the Turkish Parliament and no timescale has yet been made public in terms of its enactment. Against that background, this article examines the role of financial leasing in renewable energy projects in Turkey. |
