A fiber-optics sensor for monitoring vibration in the bearings of large stationary plant

A laser fiber-optics sensor is used for monitoring the vibrations of large stationary plant. The sensor is coupled to the secondary equipment by a multimode lightguide. The working principle is considered and a theoretical analysis is given of the mechanical characteristics.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
