Summary:Novel photochromic dithienylperfluorocyclopentenes with rhodanine fragments 1a-c were obtained and their spectrokinetic characteristics were examined. The open-chain and cyclic forms of these compounds absorb at longer wavelengths compared to known symmetrical dithienylperfluorocyclopentenes. The influence of the substituent nature on the photochromism of these compounds was studied.
