Description
Summary:Nanoparticles that are formed in the course of additional heat treatment in borate glasses containing iron and manganese oxide additives at low concentrations are directly observed for the first time using electron microscopy. The size, the shape, and the structure of nanoparticles and their volume distribution in the glass matrix are determined. Correlations between the nanoparticle parameters and the magnetic and magneto-optical properties of the glasses containing these particles are revealed.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
