Effect of Gold Nanoparticles on the Spectral Luminescence Properties of Eu3+-Doped Phosphate Glass

The spectral luminescence properties of Eu 3+ -doped potassium-aluminum-phosphate glass with thermally induced formation of gold nanoparticles in its interior were investigated. It is shown that the formation of gold clusters (pre-plasmonic particles) results in stronger luminescence of rare-earth i...

Description
Summary:The spectral luminescence properties of Eu 3+ -doped potassium-aluminum-phosphate glass with thermally induced formation of gold nanoparticles in its interior were investigated. It is shown that the formation of gold clusters (pre-plasmonic particles) results in stronger luminescence of rare-earth ions while the formation of gold nanoparticles possessing a localized plasmon resonance results in weaker luminescence.
