Description
Summary:Over 100 bodies consisting of alkalinekimberlite rocks (kimberlite, olivine melilitite, picrite, etc.) have been discovered at present in the Zimnii Bereg (Winter Coast) territory (Arkhangelsk Diamondiferous Province, ADP). Two diamond deposits have been recognized: the Lomonosov deposit (six pipes of the Zolotitsa River Field: Karpinsky-1 and -2 pipes, Pionerskii, Lomonosov, Pomorskii, and Arkhangelskii pipes) and the Grib deposit (Grib pipe in the Verkhotina River Field). Rocks of these deposits consist of kimberlites of two different mineralogical types: type I in the Grib pipe and type II, pipes of the Lomonosov deposit (Garanin et al., 2001).
