Description
Summary:The anomalous photoferromechanical effect and negative photoconductivity are reported for BaTiO3:Gd3+ crystal. The ultraviolet illumination, for the first minute, reduces the crack size formed by charged walls of the ferroelectric domains, but with longer illumination, the effect was contrary. We show that this anomalous behaviour is caused by the existence of the positive and negative photoconductivity in BaTiO3:Gd3+.
