Description
Summary:In this review the authors mainly consider nutritional relationships between microbial pathogens and higher plants. Several general treatments of the host-parasite relations of biotrophic fungi (e.g. mycorrhizal fungi and obligate parasites) havew appeared during the past decade that consider nutritional relationships and are of interest to plant pathologists. Food relationships between parasitic angiosperms and their higher plant hosts were also reviewed recently. Studies of parasitic associations of marine algae and lichens may help us understand complex nutritional relationships of higher plants and their parasites.
