Description
Summary:This study demonstrates the variability of dogmatism & the relationship between dogmatism & selected personality characteristics among a group of highly ego-involved religious persons (ie Catholic seminarians & nuns). Dogmatism was assessed with form E of M. Rokeach's dogmatism scale, personality characteristics with the Omnibus Personality Inventory (OPI). Instruments were mailed to 100 seminarians & religious sisters. As predicted, it was found that the more open-minded S's were more flexible, liberal & nonauthoritarian & scored higher on the following OPI scales: complexity, autonomy, religious orientation, personal integration, & anxiety level.
