Description
Summary:Recently, multiband metamaterial absorbers have gained considerable attention from research and development communities due to their applications in filtering, stealth, and sensing. However, these multiband absorbers are mostly comprised of multilayered metamaterial structures that make them bulky and expensive. In this paper, we investigated a novel multiband absorber made of a single layer of the tree-shaped fractal. The proposed fractal-based metamaterial absorber (FMA) shows the polarization- and angular-sensitive features of the absorption. Furthermore, it is observed that absorptivity is attained due to electric and magnetic resonance. The proposed multiband absorber would be useful for filtering, polarization- and angle-sensing, and shielding. Furthermore, the simulation results are verified by experiments.
