Abstract | This paper outlines theoretical aspects of the constitution of the field of Social Pedagogy, foreseeing an approaching horizon to the conceptual structures that make it starting on considerations about its historical trend since the late of nineteenth century. The textual composition is structured in four parts that unfold the debate about the conceptual emergence of social pedagogy, the development and maturation of its scientific-disciplinary field, the configuration of your object of knowledge and contemporary discussions guided in the brazilian context of search by the academic assertion and consolidation of the field.

A composição textual se estrutura em quatro partes que desdobram o debate sobre a emergência conceitual da Pedagogia Social, o desenvolvimento e amadurecimento do seu campo científico-disciplinar, a configuração do seu objeto de conhecimento e discussões contemporâneas pautadas no contexto brasileiro de busca pela afirmação e consolidação acadêmica do campo.
