| Abstract | This large-scale do-it-yourself citation study analyzed citation patterns of materials used by scholars who published in fifteen leading psychology journals in 2012. From these journals, 568 sample articles were selected, yielding a pool of 32,878 citations. The citations were examined to discover information use patterns of psychology scholars for collection development purposes. In addition to material type, age, and citation usage characteristics, the study identified the most frequently cited journals. These cited journals were then compared against the university's journal holdings and other studies to determine subscription gaps and assess if the top journals fluctuated over time. |
