Summary: | The self-ignition of several nondiluted hybrid mixtures of gaseous hydrogen+atomized liquid hydrocarbon fuel+gaseous oxygen was studied at high pressure. Decane has been used as a representative hydrocarbon liquid fuel. Hydrogen mass fraction range was (3–35%) in compound fuel.
Experiments have been performed using the reflected shock wave technique. Recordings of pressure and light emission were analyzed. The hybrid mixtures exhibited only strong self-ignition modes. It was demonstrated that hydrogen is a very weak promoter of self-ignition phenomena for the mixtures of atomized decane+gaseous oxygen. Additional experimental data on the self-ignition features of hydrogen+oxygen mixtures at high pressure were obtained. |
