Description
Summary:The Technological Educational Institution (TEl) of Athens, in collaboration with PRISMA Society, has offered an applied proposal for the creation, production, management and marketing of craft textiles, adapted to craftsmen's educational level. The proposal has not a limited Greek design field, nor touches Greek textile craft production and marketing problems only, but applies to all common European ones. Our research is part of the combined project 'CRAFT' (CRaft Adaptation to Fast changing Technology), executed via the 'Leonardo Da Vinci' programme, and includes Greece, Italy, Ireland and Sweden. Our research field is the Textile and Clothing Handicraft Co-operatives, composed mainly of women, which constitute a special production unit, very important historically and economically for all participating countries. A special training package has been created, which would meet handicraft producers skill needs regardless of their operational and cultural differences, with training modules in entrepreneurship (management, accounting, production, marketing) design and technology.
