Summary:A 36-year-old man was admitted because of back pain. A chest CT showed a mass shadow with a fatty density in the mediastinum. On subsequent examination, the mass shadow had enlarged markedly. The mass was excised surgically. Pathological examination revealed a liposarcoma with bleeding necrosis. One month later, the patient experienced a recurrence of the liposarcoma and died. This case describes a liposarcoma that markedly enlarged as a result of bleeding.
