Abstract A partir da análise de reportagens publicadas em duas revistas semanais de grande circulação nacional, esta pesquisa investiga as formas assumidas pelas pré-noções acionadas por agentes do campo jornalístico na produção e difusão de informações e pontos de vista sobre a educação. Parte-se da hipótese segundo a qual, em razão da posição ocupada pelo campo jornalístico na economia geral de bens simbólicos, as práticas educativas de professores e demais agentes sociais são conformadas por uma determinada construção social da realidade, isto é, por princípios de visão da educação impostos por jornalistas, o mais das vezes sutilmente, tanto ao campo educacional quanto ao espaço social geral. The text analyses articles published in two major weekly magazines with a large national circulation and aims at investigating the proportion of those pre-notions disclosed by media professionals in the production and broadcasting of information and points-of-view on education. In view of the position held by the media in the general economy of symbolic goods, we start from the hypothesis according to which the educational practices of teachers and other social agents are shaped by a given social construction of reality, that is, by principles and views of education imposed, generally in a subtle fashion, by journalists and the general social space.
