Summary: | This review is devoted to the issue of low and ultra-low concentrations of various biologically active substances and focuses on the brief history of the problem. A characteristic feature of the effects of low and ultra-low concentrations is the nonmonotonic, usually polymodal, response of living organisms and model biological systems to a monotonically decreasing concentration of active substances. Experimental data show that the physicochemical properties of water and dilute aqueous solutions and the technique of their preparation should be the object of careful study. |
