Description
Summary:Using force spectroscopy in the dynamic mode at low temperature, we have measured the interaction between a magnetic tip and an individual single vortex trapped by an artificial columnar defect in a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ single crystal. From spectroscopy data obtained along a line that intersects a vortex, we get quantitative information about the vertical and lateral magnetostatic forces between tip and vortex. Particularly, we estimate the lateral dragging force exerted on the vortex by the magnetic tip to about 1.5pN.
