O gesto da metáfora na referenciação: Tecendo objetos de discurso pelo viés da linguagem figurada

This paper aims to discuss how metaphor participates in the construction of objects of discourse and, more specifically, how the notions of frame online and offline can be recruited in the development of an analytical proposal which seeks the articulation between the cognitive and the textual / discursive dimensions of metaphorical language in use, and not only in the system .This articulation, also supported by a discussion of the concepts and units of analysis that have emerged from more recent trends in metaphor studies, is approached as a starting point to explore, in the context of metaphorical language, the process of referentiation (MONDADA; DUBOIS, 2003). This process, when transcending the simple reference to presumed world objects, implies the construction of discourse objects through discursive, social and culturally situated practices (ibid.). Based on this reflection and on the concepts presented, three texts containing metaphorical language will be analyzed, two of which are identified as examples of “metaphorical niches”.
