Description
Summary:Charge Trapping The Verwey phase transition in magnetite core nanoparticles with an amorphous shell is investigated by Carolin Schmitz‐Antoniak and co‐workers in article number 1700363. Ions with localized electrons trapped at interfacial defects at the surface can suppress the Verwey transition. Synchrotron radiation spectroscopy in conjunction with density function theory calculations is used to investigate the electronic structure and magnetism of these core–shell particles.
