Summary:A new species of Phyllanthus , collected by Sir Ghillean Tolmie Prance in Amazonas State, northern Brazil, is described. Phyllanthus prancei is the second known species in Phyllanthus subg. Conami sect. Calodictyon . It differs from the congeneric species P. tuerckheimii Webster by having tomentose branches, stipules and petioles, midrib tomentose only on the adaxial leaf surface, three free styles, and glandular, cupuliform, foveolate disc. A detailed description, photographs, an illustration, and comments on the distribution, habitat, phenology and preliminary conservation status are provided for the species.
