Summary:Stress is an "effort to adapt the organism to deal with situations that feels threatening to your life and your balance”.The hospital environment is conducive to the development of stress in the professionals. Through a questionnaire assessed stress, feelings of nurses in relation to certain working conditions and the degree of sleepiness by Epworth Sleepiness Scale. The population consisted of 23 nursing assistants, five nurses and two nurses boss. The average time in each sector accounted for about 4 years and 9 months and on the other hand, ranged from 66.6% of them turn. The higher level of stress was found in nurses with 29%, 31% of head nurses reported little stress and 25% of assistants have reported absence of stress. In relation to sleep, 63.3% showed normal level of sleepiness, excessive daytime sleepiness 33.3% and 3.3% did not answer the questionnaire.
