Lower Silurian distal shelf storm-induced turbidites in the Welsh Borders;sediments, tool marks and trace fossils

Sandstones resulting from storm surge ebb traction currents are differentiated from distal (fan) turbidites by spectacular tool marks on sandstone bases. The tools responsible are identifiable as indigenous benthonic organisms such as horn corals, crinoids, brachiopods, and trilobites.
