Description
Summary:Nord (Morinda citrifolia) has extensive utilization by people worldwide in traditional medicine and has also several pharmacological activities described. Accordingly, this study evaluated the anti-hyperglycemic effect of Noni, in the form of juice or lyophilized commercial product, in rats subjected to glucose overload. Noni juice and lyophilized noni, at the doses used, had no anti hyperglycemic effect. Further studies with higher doses or following other experimental protocols will be needed to evaluate this effect. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
