Summary:Objectives. To assess the effectiveness of computer programs in the rehabilitation of poststroke cognitive impairments as compared with distracting computer games. Materials and methods. The study included 68 patients aged 40–65 years, who were randomized to three groups: a study group (neuropsychological computer programs), an active control group (distracting games), and a passive control group (standard rehabilitation). Results. Analysis of the coefficient of effectiveness revealed statistically significant advantages in the study group over the passive control group (MoCA, MMSE, Schulte) and the active control group (MoCA). Conclusions. Neuropsychological computer programs demonstrated their effectiveness in restoring poststroke cognitive impairments as compared with courses of standard rehabilitation and distracting computer games.
