Description
Summary:A pulsed-plasma-based reactor has been created for the Moscow region Kashira thermal power plant. The reactor is intended to increase the precipitation of fly ash, SO/sub 2/ and NO/sub x/ from flue gases. The principal parameters of the electrostatic precipitator and pulse power supply for streamer corona discharge are as follows: gas flow rate 300000 Nm/sup 3//h; gas velocity 2 m/s; average power 300 kW; and pulse repetition rate up to 2 kHz. The power supply has a module design with a single module power of about 25-50 kW, pulse voltage up to 120 kV, pulse energy of 30 J and pulse length of 500 ns. A pseudospark switch with a hold-off voltage up to 100 kV is used in the module. It is supposed that the switch should offer a possibility to transfer a total charge of about 10/sup 7/ C.
