Summary: | Engine cylinder undergoes a variation of temperature and thermal stress. Fins are employed on engine to enhance the rate of heat transfer. Fins are used on the surface of the engine cylinder to increase the heat transfer rate. Rate of heat dissipation in engine cylinder fins can be improved by enhancing its surface area. The main aim of the present numerical investigation is to assess the thermal properties of engine cylinder by varying geometry, material and profile of cylinder fins using Ansys workbench. The models are created with the aid of SolidWorks. |
